Unable to set outgoing server with an Office 365 account

Trying to setup Outgoing server with office365 account but it never works. I have cross checked the username and password all details are correct.

tried with the in built config of Office 365 i.e. smtp-mail.outlook.com also tried:

tls://smtp.office365.com:587 ssl://smtp.office365.com:587 smtp-mail.outlook.com:587 ssl://smtp-mail.outlook.com:587

But nothing works.

Strangely the Mail Manager got configured in single try.

Make sure that the admin user (and/or the From email in the Outgoing server) is the same domain as registered for your office365 account. Office365 and Google Enterprise do not allow emails to be sent from a different domain.

Had similar issue but when trying to setup a hosted email, found a post in discussions.vtiger.com by @Vivek and worked.

Give it a try...

Here it is:

1. go to class.phpmailer.php in /modules/email/

2. change:

function issmtp() { $this->mailer = "smtp"; }

to:

function issmtp() { $this->mailer = "sendmail"; }

@jesus.arias no not yet, surprisingly for the client, emails started working automatically after 2 days.
