Scheduling Workflows v6.4.0

I am experimenting with some workflows to update fields. For testing purposes they are working fine when execution is set to ‘Until the first time the condition is true’ or ‘Every time the record is modified’. However, I actually want them to automatically update once a day so once testing was complete I set them up using the ‘Schedule’ option to run overnight. The updates do not appear to be running. We have had a cron job running which is picking up workflow emails and sending them just fine. Does the cron job need to be modified to pick up these tasks or should it pick them up automatically?

Also, vtiger is limiting the number of tasks that can be scheduled to 10. Is there some functional reason for that limit or is that something we can adjust?

Thanks! for the notification on this issue, We were able to reproduce the issue on current vtiger 640 instance, will look into the root cause of this and update you.

Actually the workflow should work with scheduler, that is accordingly according to schedule time set in workflow related task need to be executed.

The issue is not with the cron. When the scheduler workflow is saving to the database, it is saving the "nexttrigger_time" in a user time zone instead of UTC format. Hence cron is failing to trigger the task .We will get back to you with fix.

The scheduled workflow will be triggered at admin's time zone rather than the systems time zone. This is specially needed for Hourly and Daily scheduled workflows. So there is a no issue in this.

The schedular workflow actions will trigger only if the column 'nexttrigger_time' in 'com_vtiger_workflows' table is less than the current cron running time (according to admin's time zone). The 'nexttrigger_time' will be updated to new value whenever the scheduler event is triggered . Please make sure this is updating correctly.

Thanks Manu, I will check that out. What about the limit to the number of scheduled tasks allowed (capped at 10 I believe)? Is there a functional reason for that limit or could we change it?

On default we have limited the maximum scheduler work-flows to ten. you can change this to according to your requirement. You need to change the return value of getMaxAllowedScheduledWorkflows() api (Line no :113) in the modules/com_vtiger_workflow/VTWorkflowManager.inc
