Modify single field, if you add 0 before saved field and field have number, the 0's are not taken

Hello, found a bug and tested also on demo.vtiger.com

try to create a contact with filled some field like phone, department, address, ecc. with numeric value. Then go in detail view and click on single field, so you can edit. If you try to add some 0 before value, this is not saved.

I was not able to trace the issue with details shared. Can you please share the screenshot?

Hi, look at first file, you can see that I add a contact with a mobile number then in detail view I click on it and try to add some 00 at the beginning then if I click outside field is saved but without new 00 at beginning

During the ajax update the controller will check the previous value with the new value,The save operation will be oborted as there is no change in the value of the field (9999 == 00999).

+1 for this, since some people actually write 0049 instead of +49 for the country code in phone numbers. I looked into the base, number and into the phone validator and could not find the mentioned code which compares the old and the new value in any of those validators, this must happen somewhere else.

This was reproducible only when record already had value with 0 prefix and ajax edit was being performed.
