vt7: Calendar Layout difficult to use
We have a customer who is currently using vtiger 6.3. We are working through a migration to 7.1. It is a large system, with several hundred users and millions of records.
On their 6.3 system we changed the standard "Full Calendar" layouts to use the "basic" style as the normal layout chosen by vtiger was unusable when there were many events that occurred in a short space of time (We also modified the Feed class so the related entity name is displayed in each event).
This is how a fairly unbusy week looks in the modified vtiger 6 system. Note how the events are arranged in columns vertically and you could, if they were not smuged, see what record each event relates to. This is using the Full Calendar basicWeek layout:

Full Calendar does have a list view style which is nice and readable BUT we lose the ability to drag and drop events:
Full Calendar still, thankfully, supports the "basic" layout. When I change the Week layout to show this view - things become much easier to read:
The other thing we plan to do, is to add in some kind of colour indication in each record based on the "Actvity Type" or maybe the status picklist value of the Event. Right now, every event is just green. There is no way to easily differentiate between a Call, Email, or whatever...
The point of this Issue is that it might be a good feature to allow either a global, or a per-user, ability to chose any of these layouts based on the individual requirements of the customer.
