URLs in workflow emails are not clickable

if you use

$(general : (VtigerMeta) crmdetailviewurl)

in the text of a workflow email it does insert the URL, but it doesn't make it a clickable link. As the email is an HTML mail email clients like thunderbird don't auto link it.
