Relation fields not set when creating record via workflow with same source and target module

If you create a ticket via workflow and your sourcemodule is also the tickets module (i.e. you are creating a new ticket when saving an existing ticket), and you map the "Contact Name" (a reference to the contacts module):

Then, the new generated ticket gets an empty contact:

although the source ticket did have a contact:
